Cargo Services
When Shaheen Air commenced its flight operations
in 1993, it did not create a separate cargo division of its own
but sold out its total cargo space to Shaheen Airport Services
(SAPS). However, after privatization of the airline and its takeover
by TAWA – a progressive business group of foreign investors,
the need was felt to organize a Cargo Division of Shaheen Air
and extend comprehensive Cargo/ Freight Services to facilitate
our erstwhile clients. Thus, experienced logistics professionals
were assigned the task of planning, establishing, organizing &
managing

the
Shaheen Air Cargo Division. An elaborate business plan spelling
out the vision, mission statement, core values, organizational
set-up and type of operations to be undertaken, has been prepared,
which is, now being implemented. This plan envisages the creation
of a highly efficient, vibrant and customer friendly Cargo/ Freight
services organization in the name & style of Shaheen Air International
(Cargo Division) with the Motto to provide “Service Par
Excellence”.
Besides establishing SAI (CD)
Regional Offices at Islamabad, to oversee the execution of overall
logistics operation, we are setting up SAI (CD) Cargo/ Freight
Services Offices at major Business Centers of Pakistan, such
as, Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot
& Multan. We also intend to establish our representative
offices at major Cargo hubs of the region, as well as, Europe
& North America. Presently, our Karachi, Islamabad &
Dubai offices are fully functional and 02 schedule Freighter
Flights per week would start operating on the Dubai-Karachi-Dubai
sector shortly. Going by the enthusiasm & over whelming
response of our worthy clients, we plan to extend the schedule
freighter flights to Lahore, Islamabad & Peshawar in the
near future.
We also have standby
arrangements with reputable aircraft leasing companies of the
world for acquiring long haul wide body freighters to cater the
needs of our corporate/ institutional clients. In order to ensure
timely & regular availability of cargo space to our clients
on SAI Domestic & International passenger flights, SAIC is
also in the process of taking over cargo booking and handling
services from Shaheen Airport Services. With a comprehensive network
in place & availability of small, medium & large freight
haulage platforms, SAI (CD) is well poised to serve a diversified
segment of clients, especially importers & exporters.
Recently, Shaheen
- Cargo Division has also entered into an agreement with Pakistan
Post to airlift Postal Mail on its Domestic and International
Flights in order to provide a cost effective, speedy, efficient
and secure service to Pakistan Post Customers |
